Little brother turned 2! (a month ago)

I adore this age, neither kid has been a "terrible two". Im so excited for the next year with him and of course always a little sad that some things ended this year like breastfeeding, wearing him as often, his toddle walk with chubby thighs and gummy smiles. They have been replaced by eating as much as a grown man, running with long lean legs and a full smile of little teeth :)

The biggest change has been his speech! He was later to talk than Charlotte but about a month or so before his birthday he exploded with language. Now he talks all day in that sweet broken toddler talk, my favorite include "yeeeth" (yes), "Doc Chap-peel" (Doctor Chappell his pediatrician), "miiiself!"(myself!), "right dare" (right there), "Mama hold you" (mama hold me), "straw-bah" (strawberry) and of course all his truck words "dump truck", "dig", "mixer", "big truck".

He took some time off from doing much fine motor stuff but has been working at it again lately. He is great at chunky puzzles, cutting and holding a crayon, using his tools to screw and hammer and stacking small blocks to make houses and towers.

Per usual his gross motor skills are great and his favorite - he jumps, runs, climbs, goes down and slide, and is doing great swimming this summer! He still loves being outdoors and would live there if he could.

He is still a great eater over all with some short lived phases of pickiness here and there. His favorites are strawberries, banana pancakes, meatballs, quesadillas, mexican beans, yogurt and avocado toast.

He is such a clown! He is really honing his sense of humor these days. He is very much the goofy silly slightly mischievous little brother. Well known jokes are me asking what his name is and him answering "Ashy!" (Ashlea), using his toes to grab his paci and put it in his mouth, saying "chi chi Daddy!" (Daddy is dirty), laying on top of sister and saying night night randomly throughout the day and of course the classic hiding and popping out saying "boo!"

We just love this sweet, snuggle loving jokester and couldnt imagine our family without him <3
