Pumpkin Patch and Fall Festival

We have officially began my favorite part of the year and I plan on cramming every second of it with seasonal festivities and all things autumn :)

This past weekend we went to the pumpkin patch at a local farm, Charlotte had a blast! We went last year and while I think she enjoyed it her lack of ability to participate or talk means Im not 100% sure. This year however there was no doubt, she pointed, laughed, ohhhed and ahhhhed and ran around like one very happy little girl.

We rode a tractor out to the field to pick a pumpkin, got to pet cows, pigs, chicks, turkeys, horses and alpacas, we played in the giant corn wagon, rode the little train, went down the slide, swung on the swings and ran around in the big open spaces. It was a perfect fall day.

The next day was the town Fall Festival downtown so we headed over and walked around, visiting the different booths and enjoying the day. We ran into a bunch of friends and let the kids run around together then grabbed lunch at this fantastic little sandwich shop before heading home.

This week we have had a bunch of rain unfortunately, its good actually because its been a dry summer, but it has put a damper on the fall-ness of our activities. We did make play dough that smelled like cinnamon one day and she has been loving her sensory box of dried corn and farm animals along with a basket of mini pumpkins. Hopefully this weekend we will resume our usual outdoor fun :)
