a normal day

I did a post forever ago about what a normal day looks like. I know I will remember the big stuff years down the road but its the little day to day things that I want to make sure to document :)

Wake up 7am
- sometimes the kids are up earlier than that but they stay in their rooms and hang out until Tony gets out of the shower and gets them at 7. I get up and shower in peace and head downstairs, I usually get a quick snuggle in while the kids watch some TV then I make breakfast. Our current menu rotates through banana pancakes, cheerios with cut up bananas, almond butter toast, yogurt, fruit and waffles.

School
- Tuesday and Wednesday Cooper goes to school, he loves it and has such sweet teachers and friends there. Wednesday and Thursday Charlotte goes, she cant wait to go 4 days next year for pre-k and asks me all the time "Mama, will you miss me so much when I am at school all days" which of course I will.

-When I only have one kid we usually run an errand and do something one on one. Charlotte usually chooses a board game, magnetic set,  "big kid" craft or on occasion we snuggle and watch a movie. Cooper has Little Gym class and then we play outside, go on a bike ride, play blocks/puzzles/books. It so so so special and important to me to have that one on one time when my focus is 100% on them.

Lunch and Nap
- We eat about noon and the menu varies - hummus and cheese roll ups, pb&j, avocado toast, quesadillas, veggie sticks, pb crackers and cheese sticks are some of the most favorite. Then they play for a bit or we pick up whoever is at school then come home and nap from 1:30-3:30.

Afternoon
- When they wake up we have a snack and then weather permitting we play outside in the backyard, draw with chalk, water table, etc and wait for Dad to come home. They usually help me feed the dogs and cat. Once he is home at 4:30 ish I tag out and go make dinner while they play.

Dinner
- I am so glad that we made dinner at the table every night a priority even when they were little and it didnt really matter. Its such a nice time for all 4 of us to be together. Charlotte always says "thanks for cooking dinner Mama, its so yummy" and "so Dad how was work? how many meeting did you have".

Bath
- After dinner Tony takes them up for bath while I clean up the kitchen and when they come down we go for a walk around the neighborhood. If our neighbors behind us our out then we stop and hang out for a bit. Charlotte rotates between riding her scooter, bike and walking Bailey on the walks.

Bedtime
- After our walk we come back in and watch a little TV and they get bed snack. Around 8 we head upstairs and tuck them in. I usually do Charlotte and Tony usually does Cooper. Then we collapse on the couch  and watch shows like The Great British Baking Show :)

Writing it all out it doesnt seem like busy days but the holes are filled in with wiping noses and butts, breaking up fights about who had the green car first, changing diapers, picking up the play food 1000x, answering Charlotte's questions every 3.5 minutes, having Cooper come to my leg, arms outstretched and say "up", washing dishes, cleaning counters, doing laundry, vacuuming and sweeping, reminding Cooper to use gentle hands and Charlotte to be patient and kind when she talks and the general what not that comes with keeping 2 little humans, 2 dogs, a cat and myself alive day in and day out <3
