32 weeks and a name

So 2 weeks late but I want to share my 32 week belly picture. This one is extra special because it has her name on it! We have had 3 names that we have been back and forth on for a long time and we were going to wait until she was born but randomly one night we both decided we wanted to go ahead and choose. It took 2 minutes to figure out this was at the top of both of our lists! Without further ado.........

 

Both names are family names, paternal Grandmother is Charlotte and has always been one of my favorite names and the middle is Mama's middle name. We have been using it instead of "baby" or "nugget" and it fits just right!

Random

No real theme of this post just some random highlights from life lately

- This is a chicken that was running loose in the Hardees' parking lot in Bedford, VA. 4 people I know posted a picture of this news worthy event :)

- I made kabobs on the grill last week with chicken wrapped in bacon and pineapple. They were delicious and I highly recommend them.

- The nursery rocker came today! Weekend after next when Mama and April come down to help with the last minute touches it will be complete! Pictures of course to follow!

- We had some big storms a few days ago with a couple small tornados but we made it through safe and sound. Although some of us were a little nervous....

Penelope Turns 1

This past week Penelope turned 1 year old!

We celebrated with a oatmeal and peanut butter chew and a trip to the dog park :)

She has turned out to be a fantastic dog, she is sweet, playful, listens 90% of the time and loves everybody - cats, dogs and humans alike. We cant wait to enjoy many more years with her.

We also finally figured out her one quirk! After being used to Bailey who has many quirks including hatred of static electricity, preference for only 100% cotton fabrics, love of ALL food and refusing to have a wet paw, it was odd to have Penelope who just goes with the flow. However we finally figured it out! At bedtime she hates to have the overhead light on and will hid her head from it.
