2.5

My first little baby is 2 and a half years old. Since I dont do the monthly updates are her I wanted to take a post to mark what she is up to these days :)

Miss is super smart, super chatty, super nosey, and super funny.

She can count to 20, count out objects up to 5, sing her ABCs, identify all her letters, knows what some words start with, recognizes a handful of words on sight, knows all of our full names and ages, is memorizing and reciting songs and books

She is potty trained and never has accidents, she can put on her shoes by herself, undress herself and put her dirty clothes in the hamper, put away her dishes from the dishwasher, throw away her trash, she can draw circles and lines, use stickers and glue

She eats just about anythings but loves fruit, olives, hard boiled eggs, quesadilla and beans the best, she can jump, climb and swing and hop, she is so good and using her manners and routinely says please, thank you and excuse me, she takes turns (most of the time) and loves playing with her friends

She loves her brother and takes such good care of him, she brings him toys, helps me change diapers, always has to know where he is and tries to calm him down when he is crying

She is just the light of our lives and makes us smile everyday. I cant believe that her next birthday she will be 3! To end the post here are some of my favorite things she has said lately......

"what kind of jelly is in a jellyfish? strawberry?"
at church she was trying to give me a bible and said LOUDLY "its a book that says JESUS LOVES YOU!"
" i have to eat this candy corn so I have energy Mom, that way I can help you clean"
"you are my best of friend" to cooper while they were playing
"I want to listen to jingle bells because I love jingle bells the most forever and ever!"
"mommy, you tired? you need starbucks?"
when I asked her what she dreamed about "my toes are caterpillars"
she put a bowl on her head and moved in slow motion "im an astronaut"
she tripped and looked back at me "well that was awkward"

Exchange gift game, Bing Crosby, holiday cocktails, a Christmas roast beef, old house holiday tour, ice skating, looking at Christmas lights, cutting down and decorating the tree, breakfast casserole, board games we did it all :)

6 months

Half way there!!!!
Brother turned 6 months last week and that means 6 down 6 to go as far as the tough first year goes :)

He has been a busy guy this month, sitting up by himself, rolling all over the place, straining desperately to crawl/scoot and grabbing everything and shoving it into his mouth.

He weighs right at 16 lbs and is wearing size 2 diapers and 9 month clothes. He loves his sister, being out and about, his paci, long morning naps, being thrown in the air, peek-a-boo and looking at all the Christmas lights.

He does not like sleeping at night, being left alone and having his face wiped

Car seat is 50/50 now, he doesnt love it but with a paci or toy he will ride without screaming. Eating is also hit or miss, sometimes he gobbles it up and other times he will flat out refuse. He has always been consistently inconsistent with most things :)

wrapping up our month of thanks

Tomorrow is the last day of November and so we are wrapping up our month of thankfulness and about to dive head first into December and all things Christmas (we may have already been dipping our toes in ;) )

dipping our toes in with a first hot chocolate of the season

We did a leaf on our thankful tree almost every day and this was Charlotte's final list...
- rain
- animals
- Bailey
- Lo
- leaves
- clouds
- Cooper
- caterpillars
- all my friends
- Christmas trees
- Mama
- Dada
- sunshine
- Mickey Mouse game
- Let it Go
- new pajamas

So basically my girl loves nature, her friends and family and Disney :)

We also had a small Thanksgiving here at the house with just us and Bean and the kids, it was not our typical but still a wonderful dinner with family.

Cooper is......

- started solids, right now he is eating purees that I make and has tried sweet potatoes, avocado, pumpkin, pears and apples
- taking 2 naps a day and not sleeping through the night
- starting to scoot and trying to get into crawling position
- sleeping unswaddled (finally)
- still hating the carseat
- making all sorts of new noises
- loving his paci, bath time and his exersaucer, being worn facing out in his carrier
- LOVING playing with sister
- getting much more coordinated at grasping things and bringing them to his mouth
- sitting unsupported for a few seconds
- still our sweet happy little dumpling :)

Thankful tree

We got a bit of a late start on our Thankful Tree this year since we were traveling for the first week in November but we are in full swing now and its so sweet to see what Charlotte wants to add to the tree. This year I tweaked it a little by adding a new leaf every morning when we do calendar time and then having a separate list of charity that we can do.

This morning she added The Lion King to the tree <3
